Making Your DIY Wine Labels

  1. Decide on the size of your label before you begin. In order to avoid the difficulty of soaking and then peeling away layers of adhesive off my 750-mL wine bottle, I chose a 4-by-6-inch label size (Avery Template 5292). In terms of size, it was larger than my previous label and could be used in either portrait or landscape configuration. Because the “body” of my rosé bottles was pear-shaped, I chose labels that were 2 12 x 3 34 inches in size (Avery Template 41444). You can’t even tell there’s a label on the new one
  2. It’s that good. Averylabels are available for purchase. You may create your design in any software program of your choice. For the best effects, save it as a JPG or PNG file. Sign up for a free Avery account or sign in to your existing account
  3. Search for the precise template that corresponds to the label design that you ordered, and then upload your image to that template. Print from your computer, making sure to load your label paper and alter the specific settings on your printer’s interface before you start printing. Using caution, adhere the label to your bottle’s neck. The 4×6 labels have a propensity to ripple, so I recommend proceeding very slowly and carefully with these labels. It is also possible that the label will be applied incorrectly, therefore hold the label slightly away from your body to obtain a more comprehensive view of how it is applied on the bottle

A heartfelt statement describing what it would mean to have your friend as a bridesmaid may really help shift the odds in your favor when it comes to choosing a bride. Featured in the image above is the round 2-inch diameter label. Avery 4227 is a template for a business card. Bella Bollé Wine manufactured the wines included in this arrangement, which was made possible thanks to Walmart – since I’m a nice dude like that. It’s important to note that a 4×6 label will work for both 750 mL and 1.5 L containers.

Step 2

Select the “Business Name” box on your keyboard and press the Delete key. In addition, you will need to remove the line beneath the box as well as the company logo. If you are unsure of where the delete button is located on your keyboard, simply right-click on each object and pick “Cut” from the context menu.

Step 3

Make use of the “Label Wizard” box, which may be found on the left side of your screen. The “Color Scheme” for your wine label should be selected.

Step 4

Select the “Primary Business Address” box and make changes to the text using the font options available on the toolbar below. You can type whatever text you like into this box that will be shown on the wine label if you choose. Change the size, color, and style of the text to make it more appropriate for the topic of your wine bottle. As soon as you have made your changes to the text in the “Primary Business Address” field, go to the “Mailing Address” box and make the same changes there. To add any more text, use the “Text Frame” tool from the toolbar.

Step 5

To center your wine label, select each box and drag it to the center of the label. Inserting a photo into your label is as simple as selecting the “Insert” option, selecting “Picture,” and hitting “Clip Art” on your keyboard. You may hunt for matching clip art for your wine bottle by typing the word “clipart” into the search box. Insert clip art by selecting the picture you want and clicking “Insert Clip Art.” You may resize the clip art image by dragging any of the corners of the image to the desired size.

Step 6

Print the wine labels on sticker paper and adhere them to the bottles. “Print” may be found under the “File” menu. As soon as the label is printed, cut it out using scissors and adhere it to the bottle with a glue stick.

Make Wine Labels with Microsoft Word

Create a new document in Microsoft Word by using the New Document button. When the “New Document” window appears, pick “Labels” from the drop-down menu on the left-hand side of the box and then “Mailing and Shipping,” followed by “Business Labels.” Choose a label that is the proper size for the bottle of wine you are using.

Step 2

Make a selection of the text on each label and press the backspace or delete key on your keyboard to remove it.

Make use of the “Tool Bar” to add your own text to the page. The font style, size, and color of your text are all variables that you may play with.

Step 3

Select the “Insert” tab from the toolbar at the top of the screen. Choose whether to include a “Picture” or “Clip Art.” Selecting an image from your computer and dragging it into your document will need you to locate it on your computer. Immediately after selecting the option to import clip art, a search box will appear on the right-hand side of your screen. Fill in the blanks with any keywords you choose to locate the right clip art for the wine label.

Step 4

More information may be added to your wine label by selecting the “Insert” tab. You may customize your label by adding another text box, drawing a shape, and even adding a border and background color.

Step 5

“Print” may be found under the “File” menu. Select “Properties” and make certain that the label is printed in the greatest possible quality. As soon as the label is printed, cut it out with scissors and adhere it to the wine bottle with double-sided tape.

  • While everyone else was looking forward to receiving new socks or ties, you’ll be delivering a unique present that no one anticipated receiving!
  • In addition, here’s how to produce a fantastic gift by utilizing personalized wine labels: Before you begin labeling, consider the following:

1. Buy your favorite wine

First and foremost, you must determine which wine bottle you will be using before you can begin the wine label application process. Perhaps a delicious red for the holidays, or a sweet and tart white. There are so many wonderful wines to pick from, like Chardonnay, Chablis, Pinot Noir, and Malbec, to name a few.

2. Create and print wine labels

You may create personalized wine labels with the help of our label maker. Easy to use, and you won’t have to bother about printing, cutting, or size because everything is done for you. You may purchase sheets of labels, or you can choose a bottle of wine from our extensive variety, and we will mail the bottle to you with the label already attached! In the event that you decide to do all of these processes at home, you may design your labels using Microsoft Word or PrintShop or by hand, or you can have them printed by a local printing shop.

Print them on self-adhesive labels or paper that contains gum substance to make them easier to use. Now that you’ve picked your wine and had your labels produced.

3. Remove the label from your wine bottle

Photograph courtesy of: To begin, get some OxyClean or baking soda and put it in your sink (first close it up), filling it approximately half way with warm water and one scoop of OxyClean or ten teaspoons of baking soda. Stir the water, then place the wine bottle in the sink and allow it to sit for 45 minutes. Pull the bottle out of the water once it has soaked for the required amount of time and gently remove the label. Allow just a little additional soak time if the stain does not come off straight away.

More information may be found in our post on how to remove a wine label, which includes some helpful hints.

4. Add your label to the bottle

Now that you have your new label and a clean bottle, it’s time to apply it on the container. It’s a good idea to rest the bottle horizontally, flat between your knees, as an example. As a result, the bottle will not move, and you will have both hands free to peel the wine label from the backing and place it on the bottle. Wine labels should be applied to the front of the bottle once they have been peeled away, with any wrinkles or blemishes being rubbed off. Apply any additional pressure to the label that may be necessary.

5. Give the perfect gift

In the event that you’re presenting your personalized wine label as a gift, you may wrap the wine bottles in a colorful and themed tissue paper, or for an extra special occasion, you can get an engraved wood box. Pay attention to the shocked and thrilled expressions on the faces of your visitors and family when they discover the thrilling revelation!

The product was reviewed in the United States on April 12, 2018 and it was verified as a purchase. You can only create them on their website; there are no downloads available, and the site is a little difficult to navigate. As a result, I have not attempted to design since the first time I attempted it. Furthermore, their layouts and designs are restricted. However, I was so frustrated with trying to figure out how their site worked that I did not have the time or energy to design something on my computer, then upload and print, which, by the way, is the simplest method I came across during my hours of frustration attempting to figure out how their site worked.

  1. It was not worth the effort or hassle, and I will use Avery the next time.
  2. I’m writing this review for the simple reason that I lost a lot of time attempting to use their outdated/limited online program that was provided free of charge.
  3. To begin, I had to figure out how to utilize and alter my wine sticker, which took some time.
  4. However, when it came time to publish, a slew of concerns appeared from all over the world.
  5. I threw away a lot of sheets.
  6. The computer was in possession of a file that couldn’t even be opened.
  7. It was completely gone.

Once again, more time is required!

In addition, I was able to print.

The paper is of exceptional quality.

To make my own design, I would simply use Word or Cricut Design Space and utilize high-quality paper that has not been precut for me.

In any case, I like the paper; but, I would never purchase this product again.

I’ve tried a number of different wine labels and these are the finest I’ve found so far.

The printing is clear, and the two-part label is an excellent finishing touch.

When it comes time to recycle your wine bottles for the next batch, the labels peel off with relative ease.

The adhesive does an excellent job of keeping the label on the bottle while also allowing you to remove it when necessary.

The product was reviewed in the United States on December 21, 2016 and was confirmed to be a purchase.

The software used to create and print them is not very good.

I recommend that they provide you with a calibration sheet that you can run through your printer to align labels.

These are fantastic!

I was a little concerned because some of the other reviews had smearing, but I believe that was more of a printer issue or that they had forgotten to switch the print option to glossy paper.

Only problem I had was that if I put more than one label sheet in the printer tray at a time, it misfed and took two sheets at once, resulting in the picture being half on one label and half on another.

So, in order to remedy the situation, I simply removed all of the paper and replaced it with one label sheet at a time.

The product was reviewed in the United States on February 27, 2018 and was confirmed as a purchase.

That was much better.

Unfortunately, the blue lines that they had included in the template were also printed on the final product.

When it came to the large label, I was able to clip off the line, but there was no option to do so with the smaller label.

I’m not passionate with it, but it’s also not something I despise.

Having spent an hour working out the user interface, I attempted to make modifications due to typographical errors.

Save yourself the aggravation and purchase from Avery or another manufacturer that can supply a template for typical word processing tools instead of creating your own.

Although it wasn’t totally fusing, it was fusing.

I was giving the item as a gift, so the imperfections were minor.

I would not have used them if I had purchased them for the purpose of reselling them or for a special occasion such as a wedding. Additionally, providing a blank template sheet with dimensions or downloadable templates instead of online proprietary software would make designing much simpler.
